Referral Sample Delays and Recalls July 15th and 16th, 2025
Due to an unexpected transportation issue, some referral samples collected in our Patient Service Centers on July 15 and 16 that were destined for testing in the Lower Mainland may require recollection. Patients and physicians are advised that referral test results may be delayed, and affected patients may be recalled for repeat collection. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. If you have any questions, please reach out to our customer care team. 250-763-4813

Important Information for Healthcare Practitioners
RE: Prenatal Group B Streptococcus (GBS) Screening Effective August 1st, 2023 antimicrobial susceptibility testing will no longer be routinely performed on Group B Streptococcus (GBS). Beta-hemolytic streptococci (e.g., Group A, B, C, G streptococci) are intrinsically susceptible to penicillin. Susceptibility testing will only be performed on Group B Streptococcus when it is indicated on the requisition that the patient is allergic to Penicillin.
